Improve OHS Consultation Print E-mail

Click headings below to expand.

YWs can't participate in OHS consultations if they don't understand how safety is protected, measured and evaluated. Improve OHS consultation by giving YWs access to relevant and up to date information about injuries, near-misses, illness, OHS incidents, improvements and changes to the workplace that may affect them.

Display OHS information on noticeboards and update the board regularly. Quiz YWs on the contents to encourage them to read and think about OHS information.

These can be a great prompt for starting a conversation with YWs about OHS, especially those from a non-English speaking background.

Informative and interesting posters and signs provide a constant reminder of workplace OHS training. They make a useful supplement to OHS orientation, training and supervision but are not an effective substitute.
