Talking Safety has two main sections:

A Supervisors of Young Workers section for employers and supervisors of YWs and a Young Workers section.

Step Two: Select a Module

The Supervisor section has three modules with a huge range of information, tips and strategies for employers and supervisors of YWs. The Supervisor modules also have self-assessment quizzes and activities to see how your organisation is handling YW safety and to practice each module's most important points.

1. Managing YWs Module
2. Consulting YWs Module
3. Communicating with YWs Module

The Young Worker section has one module with information, tips and strategies YWs can use to stay safe at work.

Select the module you are most interested in learning more about.

Step Three: Take a Test Run 

Employers and supervisors should complete the self-assessment quizzes in the Supervisor section modules (quizzes are marked with a gold star on the side menu in the Supervisor section modules).

The quiz results will give employers and supervisors a clearer picture of how effectively their organisation is handling OHS management, consultation and communication with YWs.

Step Four: Brush Up 

Use the navigation buttons to move through the Supervisor module information to learn more about:

• how and why young workers have special needs when it comes to OHS management, consultation and communication.
• practical tips and strategies for keeping YWs safe.
• ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

Step Five: Find Out More 

Click on the topic buttons on each page in the Supervisor modules to get more detailed information and strategies relating to OHS management, consultation and communication with YWs.

Step Six: Spread the Word 

Provide time for staff who are responsible for orientating, training and supervising YW to work through the Supervisor modules most relevant to them.
