Formal or quick and easy, ratings scales let supervisors and OHS representatives find out about YWs ideas, attitudes, behaviours and suggestions regarding a range of OHS issues or a single issue.

Examine relevant YW OHS records and provide the results to YWs to help them recognise OHS issues affecting them, e.g. YW injuries, illness, near-misses, days off work injured, etc.

Send YWs written / online requests for feedback on OHS issues that affect them or the whole workplace. Questionnaires and surveys are a useful way to gather detailed, confidential information about a range of OHS issues.

Although email and SMS refer to technology rather than a consultation method, they are a quick and cheap way to give and receive OHS information, e.g. distributing surveys and questionnaires, gathering suggestions and giving information about changes affecting the workplace. This is especially useful for casual and part-time YWs who need to know about current OHS issues but may not be able to attend face-to-face meetings.
